Food Illustration in Watercolour
On Saturday 25th January, Andrea held a workshop illustrating food using watercolour and pen. The workshop sold out completely and was a really enjoyable morning!
We started the morning off with quite a meditative painting of blueberries. By painting little circles of water and dropping colour into them, before adding ink details we produced a series of lovely little illustrations in no time at all.
We then went on to discuss the importance of planning a composition and colour schemes before producing some exploratory sketches from the food display in front of us.
The artists used watercolour and fine liners to illustrate the food from life and we ended up with a fabulous exhibition of work at the end.
Thank you to all the artists who joined me on a rather cold Saturday January morning, their enthusiasm and kindness made for a lovely atmosphere and a very enjoyable morning of art making!
A few comments later sent to me by the artists:
Lovely class, thank you!
What a fantastic morning! thanks … you’re a great tutor.
I enjoyed this morning very much!
We will offer this workshop again soon so please do check back for details of the next session.
